18 How To Play The Naruto Card Battle

PAGE TITLE Play The Naruto Card Battle
DIFFICULTY Moderate
INTRODUCTION In the short time since the first release of Naruto collectible cards in April 2006, thousands of Naruto fans have been transformed from enthusiasts to active participants through Naruto Card Battle games and Naruto CCG (Collectible Card Game) tournaments. Naruto Card Battle play takes place all over the U.S. and Canada from informal games between friends to regional Chunin Tournaments and the U.S. Championships, held each August.

SECTION TITLE Learn the Naruto Card Battle Game Basics First
STEPS
Step 1: Find a few friends with whom you can play your first Naruto Card Battle games to learn the basics and develop your skills.
Step 2: Visit your local hobby or card store to find Naruto cards and game accessories and add your name to the store's contact list so you can stay informed about tournaments in your area.
Step 3: Visit Bandai's Naruto CCG website to read and absorb the game manual and see the flow of the game in a demonstration video (see Resources below). You can safely download the manual as a .pdf file and print it for later reading.
Step 4: Learn the anatomy of a Naruto card so that you can immediately spot key information such as symbol, card type, effect, combat attribute and degree of rarity.

SECTION TITLE Build a Powerful Deck to Advance in Skill
Step 1: Assemble a deck of 40 Naruto cards in front of you on the table or floor and trade cards in and out to make the best deck possible.
Step 2: Limit the deck to a maximum of 25 ninja cards with no more than 3 copies of any single card. You always need to have ninja cards in play, so it is wise to include a full complement of 25 ninja cards rather than to begin play with too few of them.
Step 3: Include several low Entrance Cost ninja so that your opponent is not able to defeat you in the first 5 turns. A card's Entrance Cost is printed on a green graphic on the card's right side below the picture.
Step 4: Fill out the deck with a mix of Jutsu, Mission and Client cards to create powerful combinations with your ninja, and an appropriate but limited balance of chakra symbols.

SECTION TITLE Enter Naruto CCG Tournament Play
Step 1: Check with your local hobby store to find a tournament near you and get a flier with all the necessary information and directions.
Step 2: Bring everything you need to play including your deck, game mat, turn markers and coins and money for registration.
Step 3: Check in with the "Meijin" who is handling tournament registration, claim your Naruto CCG promotional card if one is available, and get ready to rumble!
